Mel C Gives Strong Signal for Spice Girls Reunion at 30th Anniversary Celebration

JAKARTA - Melanie C or better known as Mel C gave a strong signal regarding the plan to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the legendary Spice Girls group in 2026.

For Mel C, the achievement of three decades of the group that popularized the jargon Girl Power is a momentum that must be celebrated in a special way to preserve their musical legacy in the world entertainment industry.

The singer, nicknamed Sporty Spice, said that communication between members was much more intense than before. He and Mel B were the most active figures in encouraging a reunion, while Emma Bunton has also given full support for the plan.

"We're getting closer because Emma is also supporting it," Mel C said in the latest episode of The Rebecca Judd Show on Apple Music 1.

"You know, I'm not going to blame anyone. We're all very proud - of course - of our legacy. It's incredible. And it's 30 years and we have to celebrate it in a certain way this year. I'm always optimistic," he added.

Despite the enthusiasm of the fans being very high, Mel C admitted that there was a burden for the members to ensure that this celebration went perfectly.

The fear of doing something the wrong way is the reason why they are very careful in determining the concept of the celebration. According to him, the Spice Girls are a very valuable asset for each of its members, so communication continues to be opened to reach the best agreement.

"I think Mel B and I are cheerleaders and Emma is totally with us, but we all really like it. I think it's really valuable for us," said the 52-year-old singer.

"We're afraid of doing it the wrong way. You understand what I mean? So we're still working, we're always talking, the lines of communication are open and we're just waiting until we all decide the best way to do it," he added.

In addition, the group, which is led by Mel C, Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell-Horner, and Victoria Beckham, last appeared in full formation at the 2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremony.

On the 2019 tour, Victoria Beckham was absent because she chose to focus on her family and business. However, hopes for the return of the intact formation are getting stronger after Victoria uploaded a moment at the Oasis reunion concert last year, while marking her colleagues' accounts in the Spice Girls.

Through Mel C's latest statement, speculation about a world concert or a special documentary project in 2026 is now the most anticipated topic by millions of fans around the world.
