inDrive Launches Ads in 20 Countries and Expands Food Delivery Service
JAKARTA - inDrive, an online transportation service, has started showing ads in its 20 main markets. The messaging platform is also starting to expand its food delivery service to new areas.
These two improvements are present to strengthen the company's revenue outside the online transportation sector. Moreover, inDrive is trying to reduce its dependence on travel commissions due to increasingly fierce competition.
InDrive, as reported by TechCrunch, believes that this advertising business will offer high profit margins. This is also driven by the number of users of the application that continues to increase.
Meanwhile, food delivery services are being introduced to increase the frequency of users in opening the application every day. This feature has just been expanded to Pakistan and there is no information yet on whether it will be expanded to other regions.
For advertising services, inDrive launched its feature to a number of major countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Egypt, and Kazakhstan. According to the company's internal trial in mid-2025, advertising is claimed to have generated hundreds of millions of impressions.
In addition, the head of inDrive's business growth division stated that advertising has managed to attract the interest of global consumer brands and banking institutions. For now, inDrive's focus is on displaying ads while passengers are waiting for orders.
Ads will also appear during the trip to get high engagement. For the system of using the service, inDrive still uses the model of negotiating fares between drivers and passengers.
