Employees Union Wants To Meet Jokowi Asking For Support To Raise Garuda Indonesia From 'Destruction'
JAKARTA - The PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk Employees Union will meet with President Joko Widodo to request rescue support as a flag carrier or airline related to restructuring efforts currently being carried out by management in the form of reducing employees through an early retirement program.
The coordinator of the PT Garuda Indonesia Employees Union, Tomy Tampatty, said that there are still many ways that can be done to save PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk as a national asset, namely the NKRI Red and White option.
"There are still many other potentials that can be pursued to save Garuda Indonesia as the flag carrier. We will submit several proposals to President Joko Widodo in the near future," said Tomy in a press statement at the Sheraton Hotel, Soetta Airport Area, quoted from Antara, Friday, May 28.
In addition to meeting Joko Widodo, the Joint Unions, which are also members of the Garuda Pilot Association and Garuda Indonesia Cabin Crew Association, will meet with the Chairman of the MPR, DPR, DPD, Minister of BUMN, Minister of Finance, Minister of Transportation, Commission V, Commission VI and Comedy XI DPR RI.
Tomy also said that if all Garuda Indonesia employees remain optimistic and solid in maintaining the continuity of the company and are highly committed, they will work well to provide the best service to all customers.
He also emphasized that all employees have undergone antigen health checks before the flight and the facilities used are safe.
This means that he ensures that all flight activities continue to comply with the applicable rules and hopes that in the future it will run normally again.
