Bripda MS Suspect in the Murder of a Student at Lambung Mangkurat University in South Kalimantan Fired from the Police
South Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kalsel) ensures transparency in the investigation of the case of Banjarbaru Police (Polres) member of Police Brigadier (Brigpol) Dua Muhammad Seili (MS) allegedly committing murder of a student of Lambung Mangkurat University with the initials ZD (20).
The Professional and Security (Bid Propam) of the South Kalimantan Police held a Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) hearing for suspect Bripda MS yesterday.
"We are transparent in carrying out the ethics trial and the decision is also heard by all colleagues and witnessed by themselves how the process is all," said Head of the Propam Bid of the South Kalimantan Police, Police Commissioner General Hery Purnomo at the Banjarbaru Police Headquarters, Monday, December 29, quoted by Antara.
In the hearing, which was attended by parties, including journalists, the victim's family, and the victim's colleagues, and broadcast live, Bripda MS was given an ethical sanction, namely the perpetrator was declared a reprehensible act.
In addition, Bripda MS was also given administrative sanctions in the form of dismissal without honor (PTDH) or dismissal from the police service.
"We are transparent according to the direction of the leadership, nothing is covered up and the decision to dismiss is not with respect (PTDH). For further information, we are waiting for the public trial. Please later everyone can monitor," said Hery.
With the decision of the PTDH in the ethics trial, Hery ensured that the suspect MS was no longer a member of the National Police.
"This means that starting from now, MS is no longer a member of the National Police," he said.
The murder of the ULM student occurred in Gambut District, Banjar Regency, on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at around 01.30 Wita.
The victim's body was found by sanitation workers in the STIHSA Campus manhole, Banjarmasin, on the same day at around 07.30 Wita. The victim's body was then taken by officers to Ulin Hospital, Banjarmasin, for an autopsy.
After going through the investigation process and examining witnesses, the escape process of the suspect MS finally stopped after the police managed to arrest the suspect in Banjarbaru City, at night.
