41 Houses in Agam Damaged by Earthquake Impact
LUBUK BASUNG - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Agam Regency, West Sumatra, recorded 41 houses in Palembayan and Tanjung Raya Districts were damaged by an earthquake on Sunday morning.
"As many as 41 houses have cracks in the walls," said the Head of the Agam BPBD, Rahmat Lasmono, accompanied by the Emergency and Logistics Section of the Agam BPBD, Abdul Ghafur, in Lubuk Basung, Monday, December 29, reported by ANTARA.
A total of 41 houses are spread across Nagari or Tigo Koto Silungkang Village, Palembayan District, with 10 units.
Then, Salereh Aia Timur Village, Palembayan District, 29 units and Dalko Village, Tanjung Raya District, two units.
"This is based on the data we collected from the government of the village after the earthquake hit the area, and this is a temporary data," he said.
It is confirmed that there were no casualties due to the earthquake that hit the area and there were also cracks on the road in Palembayan.
The earthquake occurred twice on Sunday (28/12) with a magnitude of 4.6 at 09.11 WIB, a depth of 10 kilometers and a location of 18 kilometers northeast of Agam.
The aftershock with a magnitude of 4.7 at 09.15 WIB, with a depth of 10 kilometers and a location of 18 kilometers northeast of Agam.
The earthquake was felt quite strongly in Palembayan, Tanjung Mutiara, Lubuk Basung and Tanjung Raya Districts.
"The earthquake tremors can be felt up to Agam in the west," he said.
According to him, the community is worried about earthquakes, because the evacuation houses they are staying in are cracked.
Therefore, the BPBD Agam set up an evacuation tent outside their homes for 20 families.
The evacuated people are victims of flash floods and the evacuation houses are cracked.
"They are earthquake survivors and we are building evacuation tents. They are residents affected by flash floods," he said.
