COVID-19 Update As Of May 26: 5,034 New Positive Cases, Mostly Riau

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released data on the development of handling COVID-19. Based on the results of the examination of 82,320 specimens per day, 5,034 cases were found to be positive confirmations.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was found in Indonesia reached 1,791,221 people", quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, May 26.

Meanwhile, for cured cases increased by 3,189 people. Thus, the total accumulative cases recovered reached 1,645,263 people.

On the other hand, cases of death due to COVID-19 increased by 144 people. With this addition, the total accumulative cases died to 49,771 people.

Still referring to the data of the Ministry of Health, for the province with the highest number of positive cases, namely, Riau. A record 739 people were declared COVID-19 positive.

Then, the second province with the most positive cases of COVID-19 is West Java with 660 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19.

Next, DKI Jakarta. At least 617 people were declared exposed to COVID-19. Then, Central Java with 548 cases.

Meanwhile, the province with cured cases occupied West Java with 662 people. In the second position, DKI Jakarta with 516 cases. Then, Riau with 347 cases and West Sumatra 267 cases.

So far 8 provinces report the addition of cases under 10, among them, North Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Gorontalo, and North Maluku. Then, there are 4 provinces without positive cases, namely Papua, Maluku, Southeast Sulawesi, and West Sulawesi.

Furthermore, the number of specimens examined reached 16,291,888. In detail, a total of 14,224,966 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 178,944 specimens using molecular rapid tests (TCM), and 1,887,978 specimens with antigen examination.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 14.90 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspect cases, it is recorded at 90,901 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
