Government Extends Purchase Of Subsidized Fuel Without QR Code In Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) provides relaxation for the purchase of subsidized fuel (BBM) without a QR Code for areas affected by the Sumatran disaster during the emergency response period which was extended until December 25, 2025.

Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Yuliot Tanjung, said that this decision was taken after he communicated with regional heads in areas affected by flash floods and landslides.

"So for this, Aceh and North Sumatra have relaxation. Then for West Sumatra yesterday there was this for disaster response, until December 8. But I myself asked for communication with the Governor to be extended," said Yuliot to the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Friday, December 12.

Yuliot added that the Governor of West Sumatra had extended the relaxation of this fuel purchase until December 22.

"The governor has extended it until December 22," continued Yuliot.

However, Yuliot opens the opportunity to extend the relaxation of fuel purchases without a QR code for as long as it is needed during the recovery period.

Previously, the Natural Oil and Gas Downstream Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) made concessions for the purchase of special oil fuel (BBM) for the assignment (JBKP) of Pertalite and relief from purchasing certain types of fuel (JBT) for diesel oil without a QR Code in Aceh.

"The purchase of JBT Solar Oil and JBKP Pertalite can be done manually (freedom of QR Code) in disaster-affected areas," said Head of BPH Migas Wahyudi Anas.

Relaxation applies in disaster-affected areas during the extension of the emergency response status period from 12 December 2025 to 25 December 2025, according to the Decree of the Governor of Aceh.

Regarding the request for additional fuel quota, Wahyudi continued, BPH Migas continues to maintain the availability of fuel supply, both subsidies and non-subsidized in the Aceh region.

"With regard to this above, in its implementation it will be carried out further by PT Pertamina Patra Niaga as the Assignment Implementing Business Entity," Wahyudi wrote.
