JAKARTA - TNI personnel carried two elderly people with stroke who were victims of the disaster using sarongs that were hung on wood in Guci Hamlet, Burni Pase Village, Permata District, Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh, Thursday 11 December.

"The evacuation was carried out due to the deteriorating health condition of the two residents. Meanwhile, the transportation route cannot be passed by vehicles due to isolated terrain," said Head of the Public Information Division of the TNI Headquarters Information Center, Colonel (P) Agung Saptoadi when confirmed in Jakarta, Friday, as reported by Antara.

The two elderly people who were evacuated by the TNI were Aman Yus (65) and Ine Yus (60). They were evacuated by the nearest Babinsa officer to the health care facility for medical treatment.

The Babinsa TNI personnel must walk with Aman Yus and Ine Yus six kilometers long with quite steep, slippery terrain and quite extreme weather.

"Arriving at the Buntul Health Center, health workers who have been on standby immediately gave treatment to the two elderly," said Agung.

Agung continued this effort is part of the TNI's commitment to always be present to help flood victims.

"The TNI will also continue to strengthen synergy with residents as part of its service duty to support the safety and welfare of the community," he said.
