JAKARTA - Member of Commission VIII of the DPR, Maman Imanul Haq, appreciated the government's move to allocate Rp125 billion of APBN funds to rebuild Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School in Sidoarjo, East Java. He considered the policy to show the government's serious concern for the development of pesantren.

"We appreciate the government's policy in the process of building the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School. This shows the government's alignment and support for the development of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia," Maman told reporters, Jakarta, Friday, December 12.

Even so, Maman hopes that the process of structuring Islamic educational institutions will continue.

"But we also hope that the process of structuring pesantren will continue," he said.

He explained that the rebuilding of Al Khoziny was in line with President Prabowo Subianto's directives regarding the arrangement of pesantren infrastructure involving the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, the Ministry of Religion, the Ministry of PUPR, as well as other ministries and institutions at the central and regional levels.

"Monitoring, supervision, and implementation of Islamic boarding schools really need the support of all parties so that pesantren becomes a safe and worthy place to gain knowledge," he said.
