Ministry Of Transportation Projects Number Of Air Passengers Reaches 5 Million People In Nataru

BOGOR - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) projects that the number of air passengers can reach 5,050,194 people during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) periods.

Secretary of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Achmad Setiyo Prabowo, said that the passenger projection consisted of passengers on domestic routes as many as 3,899,176 people and international routes as 1,151,018 people.

"In 2025, we predict that it will increase from 3.7 million to 3.8 million. Indeed, from a point of view, our prediction is not very significant about the increase," he said in Media Gathering Angkasa Pura Indonesia, in Bogor, Thursday, December 11.

Even so, Setiyo said he was optimistic that there would still be an increase in the mobilization or increase in passenger movements in that period.

Regarding the most populous domestic route, continued Setiyo, it occurred in Jakarta-Bali, Jakarta-Surabaya, and Jakarta-Ujung Pandang.

Meanwhile, international routes are Jakarta-Singapore, Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur, Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur and vice versa.

Furthermore, Setiyo said, the number of targeted fleets can be used to serve Nataru transportation this time as many as 368 of the 568 available units.

"So there used to be a lot of aircraft stocks on several airlines. Right now, only 568 units. But the serviceable is 368 units. The maintenance is 200 units," he said.

Therefore, said Setiyo, if there is a delay in flights or delays due to weather factors due to technical problems, the aircraft will be restrained so that it cannot rotate according to schedule.

Dampaknya, jadwal penerbangan berikutnya ikut terganggu.

As a result, the next flight schedule was also disrupted.

"So, for example, there is a delay due to the weather, or because of the technical operation, yes, because the rotation of the plane is indeed slightly reduced," he said.
