President Putin Praises Russia-RI Economic And Trade Cooperation Grows 17 Percent This Year
JAKARTA - President Vladimir Putin praised the growth of Russia's economic and trade relations with the Republic of Indonesia so far this year, when he received President Prabowo Subianto during a working visit in Moscow on Wednesday.
Speaking in his remarks, President Putin said relations between the two developing countries were stable and consistent, during Russia-Indonesia diplomatic relations for 75 years.
"The joint commission between governments is working actively. Cooperation in trade and economics shows positive dynamics; in the first nine months of this year, growth reached 17 percent," said President Putin, citing his remarks shared by the Russian Embassy in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/12).
President Putin further said the two countries were discussing a lot of interesting cooperation in industry and agriculture.
"There is even a certain surplus that benefits Indonesia in our agricultural trade. We don't mind this and are ready to find ways to continue to improve cooperation in this sector," he said.
"The grain supply to the Indonesian market has decreased slightly, as far as I know, but this is also one of the topics of our discussion today," he said.
Regarding the people-to-people contact, the Kremlin Leader said relations between the two countries also developed positively.
"The number of tourists from their respective countries continues to increase. This is supported by the existence of direct flights and the ease of visa facilities," said President Putin.

On this occasion, President Putin also again revealed that his party welcomed Indonesia's full membership in BRICS, as well as negotiations between Indonesia and the EAEU (Eurasian Economy Union) regarding the free trade agreement.
It is known that President Prabowo arrived in Moscow on Wednesday, after making a two-day working visit to Pakistan.
Last June, President Prabowo made a two-day working visit to Russia. However, at that time President Prabowo was received by President Putin at the Konstantinovsky Palace, St. Petersburg.
