Highlighted Because Asking For Disaster Donationraising Must Be Permitted First, This Is The Explanation Of Social Minister Gus Ipul
JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf explained the reasons for licensing before fundraising and goods carried out by institutions, groups, and individuals must be carried out.
"Indeed, in the provisions, if you raise funds from the community, it can be done, it can be started by applying for permission online, and it is not complicated," said the Minister of Social Affairs as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 10.
Gus Ipul, as he is familiarly called, explained that fundraising may be carried out after applying for a permit. Then, the fundraising conduct an audit to be reported.
He underlined that the licensing process only takes two days.
The Minister of Social Affairs continued, if the amount of funds raised has a nominal value below Rp500 million, then the audit is sufficient to be carried out independently.
However, if the amount of funds raised exceeds Rp500 million, an audit must be carried out by the official Public Accounting Office (KAP).
"So, later we will know what the money collected from the community is for, what it is used for, and who will receive the benefits," he said.

However, said Gus Ipul emphasized, in urgent circumstances such as natural disasters, anyone may collect, but must continue to report the results of the audit after the distribution of the aid.
"So don't blame this, nothing gets in the way. But later we hope, when it's finished, it may need the licensing process to be taken care of, then the accountability will be carried out," he said.
According to him, this licensing is needed to increase the trust of the community who make donations, as well as increase the credibility of the institution/community that distributes the donation.
Gus Ipul said that basically anyone can raise funds but not everyone knows the regulations they should be.
He realized this might be due to the lack of appropriate socialization to convey this information, so this could be an evaluation in the future.
The Minister of Social Affairs also expressed his appreciation to all parties, including institutions, communities, and individuals who have sent donations to disaster-affected communities in various regions in Sumatra.
"We want to synergize, not only when you ask permission, but we want to synergize and coordinate the program that you/mother do with what we do." said Saifullah Yusuf.
