Gotong Royong With Residents, PGN Tembus Village Breaks Access In Aceh Tamiang To Distribute Aid
JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) as Pertamina Gas Subholding and together with the Pertamina Peduli program managed to penetrate one of the villages without access and limited access on the border of North Sumatra and Aceh, precisely in Kampung Alur Mentawak Village, Aceh Tamiang Regency, on Tuesday, December 9.
There are 3 affected hamlets where one hamlet is still inaccessible, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. This effort was carried out with residents who are full of enthusiasm to work together to take extreme routes to distribute aid to communities affected by floods and landslides that hit Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra some time ago.
As a result of access that is still cut off due to landslides, the PGN team must first go through assistance to the nearest point that can still be passed by four-wheeled vehicles. From that location, with the support of residents, the PGN team continued its journey using an oil palm transport trail to penetrate slippery and steep routes to reach residential areas that needed assistance.
PGN's Corporate Secretary, Fajriyah Usman, expressed his gratitude for the successful distribution of the aid. He said that the effort to penetrate the isolated village was not easy, but thanks to the spirit of mutual cooperation between the PGN team and residents, assistance was finally able to arrive at the location.
We are grateful that the aid was finally able to reach the isolated village for several days. Our goal is simple, ensuring that aid really reaches people who are struggling in the midst of difficult situations," said Fajriyah, Tuesday, December 9.
Fajriyah added that PGN will continue to be present and help people in disaster-affected areas as a form of company commitment.
"We will come as far as necessary, including to locations with the most limited access. In an emergency like this, timely assistance is very crucial," he added.
PGN's Division Head Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Krisdyan Widagdo Adhi in the field explained that the assistance brought this time was prepared based on the urgent needs of the affected residents. He mentioned that PGN distributed various basic necessities such as 600 kilograms of rice, 75 boxes of instant noodles, 20 egg boards, 175 kilograms of oil, biscuits and 1.5 liters of drinking water 200 boxes, as well as other important equipment such as medicines, vitamins, and baby diapers.
In addition, PGN also brought a number of sets of two-burner household stoves and an industrial single stove set, as well as supplies of Bright Gas LPG gas.
"With the help of these food and equipment, it is hoped that residents can make public kitchens to cook and meet their daily food needs even though conditions are still limited," explained Krisdyan.
Krisdyan revealed that the distribution process this time was one of the most challenging. According to him, the condition of the terrain that was cut off and could only be passed by the trail bike demanded close cooperation between the PGN team and residents. Therefore, he expressed his gratitude to the residents who helped transport aid and ensured that the packages could arrive safely.
"The terrain that was passed was very heavy, the road was slippery and steep, so we had to help little by little. Without the help of the residents and the farmers who participated in the aid package, it was impossible for us to reach this village," said Krisdyan.
