Barsena Bestandhi Prays For Sumatra Disaster Victims With New Space Iringan
JAKARTA - Hundreds of people were made tenuous when Barsena Bestandhi performed his song entitled New Room at a concert titled Symphonesia Viral: 100% Indonesian Music.
The concert, which was led by Erwin Gutawa, took place at Graha Bhakti Budaya, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta today, Tuesday, December 9.
Initially, Barsena appeared to bring 'Panaah Asmara' and 'If I Can', two old works that Chrisye popularized and went viral again on social media.
Furthermore, Barsena switched to perform a song she wrote with Hendro Djasmoro, a 'New Room', which was released in 2024.
Through this song, Barsena made a confession, where when the 'New Room' was played a lot on social media, she actually felt pain.
"There was a bit of joy and sadness when I saw and heard this song milling about (on social media)," Barsena said.
"The joy is, people are starting to know the songs I wrote, people are getting inspired and so on," he added. "But sadly, I often watch video content on my song, mostly now, content about natural disasters, about people left behind by loved ones."
It did not stop there, after the confession, Barsena asked hundreds of spectators who meet Graha Bhakti Budaya to offer prayers for people in Sumatra who are currently struggling with disasters.

"I want to use this moment for all of us to pray for our friends in Sumatra and Aceh. Hopefully they will get through these difficult times quickly," said Barsena.
I see all of my friends here are beautiful, handsome, colorful clothes. But there they use the same color, brown color. Because of mud and flooding," he added.
When Barsena sang New room the changes were felt. The audience, who originally sang together, now chooses to enjoy the music while offering their prayers.
For information, the Symphonesia Viral: 100% Indonesian Music concert also presented Rahmania Astrini, Adrian Khalif, and Bara Suara.
