When The Kitchen Is Submerged, MyFundAction Comes Through 2,718 Porsion Of Warm Food
JAKARTA The MyFundAction rapid response team carried out an emergency response action since early December to help flood-affected residents in North Sumatra. On December 6, 2025, the humanitarian organization established a public kitchen in Sipurik District, South Tapanuli Regency, to meet the food needs of residents who had difficulty getting ready-to-consume food.
During three operational days, public kitchens produced and distributed 2,718 servings of food to 302 people, including children, the elderly, and housewives. In addition, volunteers also distributed 60 packages of ready-to-eat meat for residents who were in refugee camps and who remained at home.
"In the early stages of disaster, warm food is the most crucial need. Many families cannot cook because their kitchens are submerged or the electricity is cut off," said a representative of the MyFundAction field team. The public kitchen was also used as a logistics center before assistance was distributed to hamlets that were difficult to access due to flooding.
Floods and landslides that hit South Tapanuli were triggered by high rainfall and environmental conditions that were not maintained. A number of public facilities experienced disturbances, while some residents chose to stay at home to protect property, so food needs are a top priority in the emergency response phase.

In this humanitarian action, MyFundAction collaborated with Asar Humanity, South Tapanuli BPBD, village officials, and the local community to ensure that aid was distributed on target. In addition to food distribution, the team also conducted assessments for further needs such as blankets, hygiene kits, as well as recovery support for vulnerable families.
This emergency response action reiterated MyFundAction's commitment to be present in disaster situations in Indonesia, not only providing physical assistance but also moral and psychosocial support for victims. This organization hopes that this contribution can strengthen solidarity and help the recovery of flood-affected residents to get up immediately.
