TNI Soldiers Street 15 Kilometers Bring Logistics For Disaster Victims
Deputy Head of Information Center (Wakapuspen) TNI Headquarters Brigadier General Osmar Silalahi said his soldiers walked 15 kilometers while carrying logistics 15 kilograms per person to meet the needs of disaster victims in West Sumatra (West Sumatra).
This was done by TNI soldiers because the road access to the disaster site was cut off due to flooding and landslides.
"This is a burden transported by each 15 kilogram soldier, traveling 15 kilometers," said Osmar during a press conference at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 9.
Osmar said the personnel deployed for walking came from Kodim 0305/Pasaman, Kodam XX Imam Bonjol.
Soldiers consisting of 10 people had to walk from the logistics post point to a village affected by floods and landslides that were difficult to access.
During the trip, Osmar admitted that his soldiers were faced with a difficult terrain.
"A total of 15 kilometers are by crossing the river, bringing the total trip to more than an hour," said Osmar.
All these efforts were made by TNI soldiers so that logistics reached the residents.
Not only in West Sumatra, Osmar ensured that the efforts to walk through the difficult terrain were also carried out by the TNI in other disaster areas, namely North Sumatra and Aceh.
"This effort is still ongoing today," said Osmar.
With this effort, Osmar hopes that logistical assistance can reach all disaster areas optimally.
