Latest Explorer Appears More Observational, Ford Ready To Release In China Early Next Year

JAKARTA - Ford in China is preparing to launch for a new Explorer model that has received several updates, including an increasingly mature exterior design.

Citing from the Carscoops page, Tuesday, December 9, the Ministry of Industry and Technology has announced that a slightly updated version of the medium size crossover will be coming soon.

From the images shared, it is very easy to spot, this updated model has a new front display with a horizontal striped sleek front light.

In addition, the grip also gets a new touch that looks flatter and wider with new details. Combined with a new bumper, which replaces a smooth curve and a flowing surface with a H-shaped design.

The side seems to be largely intact, but Ford may offer some new rim designs that make it more attractive. It looks like some variants will be offered with a contrasting black roof.

The update on the back is relatively minor, but the model has been equipped with a new rear bumper that features vertical accents. Explorer also adopts a hidden exhaust as the exhaust pipe is now tucked under the vehicle.

Speaking of heartburn, based on the report above, it will be equipped with a 2.3 liter engine powered by 286 hp. This shows that this model will use a four-cylinder 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine that is already known, with a 445 Nm torque and a top speed of 200 km/h. Like the current version, this machine is expected to be combined with 10-speed automatic transmission

Given the timing, full disclosures and market launches in China are likely to take place in the first quarter of next year.
