BMKG Announces Weather Tuesday 9 December: Beware Of Thunderstorms In Several Big Cities

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that a number of areas in Indonesia on Tuesday, December 9 will experience varying weather, ranging from rain accompanied by lightning, moderate rain, light rain, to thick clouds.

As quoted by Antara from the BMKG Instagram account (@infobmkg), for the western region of Indonesia, rain accompanied by lightning is expected to occur in Palembang, Pangkalpinang, Bandar Lampung, Semarang, Banjarmasin, and Tanjung Selor.

Meanwhile, light rain has the potential to occur in Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Jambi, Bengkulu, Serang, Jakarta, Surabaya, Pontianak, Palangkaraya, and Samarinda.

Cloudy weather is predicted to cover Banda Aceh and Bandung, while cloudy conditions are likely to occur in Tanjungpinang and Yogyakarta.

In eastern Indonesia, rain accompanied by lightning is expected to occur in Mamuju and Kupang. The moderate intensity rain has the potential to flush Kendari and Merauke.

A number of other areas have the opportunity to experience light rain, including Makassar, Palu, Manado, Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Nabire, and Jayawijaya.

Cloudy weather is forecasted in Denpasar, Mataram, and Gorontalo, while Jayapura is expected to be cloudy and Manokwari has the potential to experience fog air.
