Eder Militao Injured In Contra Celta Vigo's Defeat, Real Madrid's Back Line Is Getting More Fragile
JAKARTA - Eder Militao was forced to leave the field due to injury in the first half when Real Madrid lost 0-2 to Celta Vigo on Monday, December 8, 2025, early morning WIB.
This situation makes Los Blancos' defense haunted by concerns ahead of this week's Champions League match against Manchester City.
Militao picked up an injury after the last defense intervention at the Santiago Bernabeu. He had to be helped off the pitch by two members of Real Madrid's medical staff, before being replaced by Antonio Rudiger in the 24th minute.
Real Madrid continues to monitor Militao's condition and we don't know for sure how long the defender will be out of action.

"After undergoing tests conducted on Eder Militao by Real Madrid Medical Services, he was diagnosed with fractures in left-footed femoris bisep muscles, especially those affecting the proximal tendons. Developments will be monitored," said Real Madrid's statement.
Celta Vigo scored twice in the second half and Real Madrid had to lose Fran Garcia and Alvaro Carreras who were sent off in the defeat.
The game without points left them even more behind Barcelona. Real Madrid are now four points behind leaders LaLiga.
The series of difficult situations caused Real Madrid to be in big trouble now. They will host Manchester City in the Champions League on Thursday, December 11, 2025, early morning WIB, followed by LaLiga's match against Alaves and Sevilla before Christmas.
"We are angry, this is not the game or the result we want. Militao's injury is very painful for us, difficult to recover."
"We're trying to adjust, but it's not the game we wanted. We have to get up as soon as possible, there are still many league games left."
"In the middle of the week, we will face Manchester City in the Champions League to react and eliminate a bad feeling in our mouth," said Real Madrid manager, Xabi Alonso.
Meanwhile, Militao has struggled with a series of injury problems in recent years, suffering from tearing of the crucial ligaments in the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 seasons.
Rea Madrid is currently without center-back Dean Huijsen and David Alaba. Meanwhile Rudiger has just recovered from injury.
Not to mention, right-back Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold, as well as left-back Ferland Mendy who are also not available.
