Nusron Wahid Make Sure To Revoke HGU To Make Flood Victims' Houses And Longsor Sumatra
JAKARTA - Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid emphasized that he is ready to revoke the right to use the company's (HGU) business in areas affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra.
This was in response to a directive from President Prabowo Subianto to provide land to build housing for victims.
"Yes, ready (revocation of the HGU), no problem. This means that if people need permanent housing and there is no available land, later we will ask for the land of the businessmen, state land, which is the HGU-HGU in the city today," Nusron told reporters after the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Ministry of ATR/BPN 2025 in Jakarta, Monday, December 8.
His party also plans to provide land for the construction of housing for flood victims.
Although a location survey has not been conducted, the report shows that 52 districts have been affected by the disaster.
Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto gave directions to provide land for the construction of temporary shelters and permanent housing for flood victims in Sumatra.
He asked local governments and related ministries and institutions to take care of the provision of the land.
"I think the land should be there, that's it. Later, the coordination of district, provincial, central governments, all ministries/agencies, especially ATR, forestry. If necessary, the HGU-HGU can be temporarily revoked, reduced. So, the interests of the people are more important. Land must exist," Prabowo said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, December 8.
For information, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has released the latest data on Monday, December 8, 2025, regarding flash floods and landslides that hit three provinces on the island of Sumatra.
