Riot Announces 2XKO Tournament Plan For 2026, Console Version Released January

JAKARTA - Riot Games officially announced its new game, entitled 2XKO in 2026, will be released for the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles in January 2026.

The presence of a console version is one of the most anticipated moments, after the community waited months since the Early Access period began in October 2025.

Since the opening of Early Access, community enthusiasm for 2XKO has been very high. More than 1,500 community tournaments have been held in various regions, including 22 First Impact sponsored events and attended by thousands of players.

With the presence of a console version early next year, Riot hopes that the 2XKO player base will be wider and make it easier for the community to engage in various events that will be held throughout the year.

"We know you guys have been waiting a long time to play it on the console, and can't wait for you guys to play it soon," the studio wrote in its official announcement.

Along with its launch announcement on consoles, Riot Games also announced a 2XKO competitive plan for 2026 through a program titled the 2026 Competitive Series.

Unlike League of Legends and VALORANT, which rely on Riot's official league, 2XKO actually carries a different approach, which is to support existing game fighting tournaments through community administrators.

"This means that we provide things like funding, promotions on Riot's official channel, and an increase in the number of prizes, with the ultimate goal of creating sustainable and long-term growth for the FGC," he said.

Riot promised to share additional details on competitive roadmaps throughout 2026 in the near future. Meanwhile, the community is invited to revive the ecosystem, starting with Frosty Faustings earlier this year.
