Ministry Of Industry Opens Access Expansion Of 13 Halal Mamin RI Industry To Japan
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry together with the Japanese Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) facilitated a meeting between Indonesian halal industry companies and Japanese market access networks.
This step was carried out through holding a business meeting, as part of Indonesia's participation in the agenda of The 7th Japan International Food & Beverage Expo (JFEX) Winter 2025.
Acting (Plt) Director General of Agro Industry of the Ministry of Industry Putu Juli Ardika revealed, as many as 13 Indonesian halal industry companies in the food and beverage (mamin) sector also promote their products.
The promotion was carried out through four strategic themes, namely From Local Harvest to Global Halal Taste; Halal Coffee, Global Taste; Elevating Moments with Halal Tea & Chocolate; and Snacking the Halal Way.
Meanwhile, the business meeting entitled "Strengthening Halal Industry Ecosystem and Supply Chain Collaboration" took place on Thursday, December 4.
"This meeting brought an important mission for the country's halal industry to establish the widest network with the Japanese market and optimize the existing potential," Putu said in an official statement, Sunday, December 7.
Putu said, Indonesia has an advantage in natural raw materials. Thus, Indonesia has a great opportunity to present quality, safe and secure halal products to meet global preferences towards halal lifestyle.
He gave an example, Indonesian companies that have entered the Japanese market through small-scale shipments, including PT Inti Gravfarm Indonesia, PT Fruit-Inng Indonesia, PT Monde Mahkota wrongit and PT Bukit Sari.
"This shows that Indonesia's halal products have a great opportunity to be accepted and through this meeting, we hope to strengthen supply sustainability and expand export coverage," he said.
The agenda also continues with networking sessions and cooperation assessments. A number of Japanese companies show interest in the quality, diversity and added value of Indonesian halal products.
"This interaction is a positive initial momentum to open up opportunities for further collaboration, from distribution to product development and investment potential," he explained.
Furthermore, Putu said, Indonesia's participation in JFEX Winter 2025 is a strategic momentum to strengthen the exposure of national halal products in Japan.

Through exhibitions and various activities facilitated by the Ministry of Industry, it is hoped that opportunities for cooperation with Japan's trading partners will be more open, including product development, increasing distribution and expanding market access.
Meanwhile, Tokyo Industry Attache Sofyari Rahman emphasized the importance of halal economic diplomacy in the Japanese market. According to him, there is a significant increase in interest from Japanese industry players in Indonesian halal products.
"Through this meeting, we hope to open wider collaboration space, not only in trading but also in strengthening supply chains," he added.
