Halal Certification Provides Protection And Legal Certainty For Business Actors
JAKARTA - The Halal Product Guarantee Administration Agency (BPJPH) emphasized that halal certification serves as an added value of protection and legal certainty from halal products that also have implications for economic added value for business actors.
BPJPH Main Secretary Muhammad Aqil Irham said halal certification also reflects quality or quality standards, hygiene, hygiene, and also product security.
"The Halal (certification) besides (enhancement) profits is also a reflection of the product's quality, quality, and hygiene and is safe for consumption," said Aqil Irham as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, December 7.
Furthermore, he also said that the halal certification program is increasingly relevant to the government's priority agenda, including the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG), industrial strengthening and increasing competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprise products (MSMEs).
In this case, he continued, cross-sectoral synergy is the key to ensuring the implementation of effective halal product guarantees.
In addition, Aqil Irham emphasized that global trends show an increase in demand for halal products not only from Muslim countries, but also from global consumers who prioritize the quality and safety of food products.
"Therefore, domestic industries and MSMEs must be able to be competitive in all these aspects, including the halal aspect," he said.
Prayers explain that the application of halal standards can increase consumer confidence, expand markets, and contribute to national economic growth through improving the quality of domestic products.

According to him, the obligation to halal certification does not mean limiting production activities and product trading.
This is because the main principle is legal certainty and consumer protection.
"The obligation to halal certification does not mean that all products are required to be certified halal. If a product is not halal, then the producer is obliged to provide clear information through inclusion or illegal certificates so that consumers get certainty," he added.
