Traces Of Marijuana From The Football Field: 2 Dealers Arrested, Palembang Prison Prisoners Allegedly Brain Distribution

EAST OKU Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) East Police, South Sumatra, confiscated 2.5 kilograms of marijuana leaves from two cross-district drug dealers with the initials DS (39) and M (38).

East OKU Police Chief AKBP Adik Listiyono said the two suspects were residents of Bantan Pelita Village, Buay Pemuka Peliung District, East OKU.

Both were arrested in a raid by the Drug Investigation Unit on Monday, December 1 at around 13.00 WIB.

The arrests began with public reports regarding the sale and purchase of marijuana at the Sumber Agung Village Football Field, Buay Madang District.

Armed with the report, the police conducted an investigation and then secured DS. DS found two large packages of marijuana with a gross weight of 929 grams and 561 grams, respectively.

The results of the examination of DS then led to the second suspect, namely M. Police found a large package of marijuana weighing 1,014 grams wrapped in yellow duct tape and hidden in cardboard in M's house.

"DS admitted that some of the marijuana had been handed over to M on the orders of a prisoner with the initials AC who controlled the network from Palembang Prison," said Adik in East OKU, Antara, Friday, December 5.

From the initial inspection, it was revealed that all marijuana was sent through interprovincial bus transportation modes. The police strongly suspect that this circulation is controlled by AC, which is the liaison and controller of the distribution of goods to the East OKU region.

The East OKU Police have stated that they will conduct an in-depth investigation into the Palembang Prison in the near future to investigate the network thoroughly.

The two suspects were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) or Article 111 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of death penalty, life imprisonment, or a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

"We ensure that this case continues to be developed further to cut off distribution channels and cross-regional drug networks," said the Police Chief.
