Gapki Notes Palm Oil Domestic Consumption Increases 5.13 Percent
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Palm Oil Entrepreneurs Association (Gapki) recorded that Indonesia's domestic consumption of palm oil from January to September 2025 was 18.5 million tons. This achievement increased by about 5.13 percent from the same period in 2024, which was 17.6 million tons.
"The performance of the palm oil industry shows a little acceleration compared to the same period last year," said Gapki General Chair Eddy Martono quoting Antara.
The largest domestic consumption of palm oil during nine months 2025 comes from the biodiesel sector, which is 9.4 million tons or about 51 percent of total domestic consumption.
Then, absorbed by the food sector as much as 7.37 million tons (40 percent), and the autochemical sector as much as 1.67 million tons (9 percent) of palm oil.
For palm oil exports, during January-September 2025, it was recorded that it increased by around 13 percent compared to the same period in 2024, from 21.9 million tons to 24.9 million tons.
In terms of value, Indonesia's palm oil exports increased 39.85 percent as of the end of September 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
During January-September 2025, the export value of palm oil reached 27.31 billion US dollars, while in the same period in 2024 it was worth 19.53 billion US dollars.
The increase in export value that occurred was due to the average price of January-September 2025 of USD 1.210 per tonne of Cif Rotterdam which was higher than the January-September 2024 average of USD 1.020 per tonne of Cif Rotterdam, reported by the Gapki page.
Responding to this trend, one of the business actors in the palm oil industry, PT Bumi Makmur Anugerahagung (BMA) conveyed that the trend of demand for crude palm oil (CPO) products in the domestic market is an indicator of domestic market activity.

"Seeing the sales results in the first half of 2025, BMA is optimistic that sales volume can double this year compared to 2024," said Director of PT Bumi Makmur Anugerahagung (BMA) Cheny Canliarta in a statement received in Jakarta, Thursday.
Cheny said that his party has a number of strategies to improve the performance of the company operating since 2024.
"With an expansion strategy and a focus on palm-derivative products, BMA is optimistic that it can strengthen its position in the national CPO trading industry. The company is also committed to supporting the supply chain of a sustainable and highly competitive palm oil industry," Cheny said.
