No Need To Panic Buying, BPH Migas Guarantees Fuel In South Sumatra Is Safe During Christmas And New Year

JAKARTA The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) ensures that the supply of fuel oil (BBM) in the southern part of Sumatra (Sumbagsel) is safe ahead of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026.

Member of the BPH Migas Committee, Hasbi Anshory, said that the supply of fuel in five provinces of South Sumbagsel, Lampung, Bengkulu, Jambi, and Bangka Belitung was in sufficient condition and ready to meet the needs of the community during the long holiday period.

Hasbi on December 3 made field visits to a number of fuel facilities, including the Palembang Integrated Terminal (IT), the Marketing Operation Region (MOR) II Office of South Sumatra PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, as well as several gas stations in Palembang.

"The arrival of BPH Migas is the first to ensure that during the Christmas period, new fuel stocks in the South Sumatra region are safe. Then we will continue to monitor so that supply is maintained," he said at the Kertapati Palembang gas station, Antara, Thursday, December 4.

He appealed to the public to remain calm and not to make excessive purchases. BPH Migas, he said, ensures that supplies are available at all gas stations even though at several points there may be queues.

"Don't panic buying. What is clear is that we ensure that the stock exists and is ready to face the end of the year," he said.

Hasbi also emphasized the obligation of gas station managers to distribute subsidized fuel and compensation according to regulations so that it is right on target to the people who are entitled.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Executive General Manager, Erwin Dwiyanto, said Pertamina is ready to carry out four pillars of the Christmas and New Year Task Force services to ensure smooth distribution throughout Sumbagsel.

"We are committed to providing energy services, promotional services, attention regional services, and additional services at distribution agencies as a form of operational preparedness, so that fuel supply and distribution run safely and smoothly," he said.

Kunjungan tersebut juga diikuti jajaran Pertamina Patra Niaga Sumbagsel, termasuk Region Manager Retail Sales Ayub Ritto, Region Manager Sales & Distribution Rahdian Mahardika, IT Manager Palembang M. Ali Ba’bud, serta Sales Area Manager Sumatera Selatan Jimmy Wijaya.
