Minister Of Agriculture Amran In One Hour Raised Funds Of IDR 75.85 Billion For Victims Of The Sumatra Disaster

JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman managed to raise aid funds of IDR 75.85 billion in the national donation movement for victims of the Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra disasters as a form of concern and solidarity of all stakeholders.

The humanitarian action which was held in the Hall of the Ministry of Agriculture's F Building (Kementan), Jakarta, Tuesday, December 2, 2025 took place openly and in real time, followed by Ministry of Agriculture employees, the National Food Agency (Bapanas), and agricultural sector business partners.

Within just one hour, the Minister of Agriculture's invitation managed to collect around Rp75.85 billion. Although the amount is large, the Minister of Agriculture emphasized that all donations were collected without coercion.

Everyone is given space to donate according to their abilities, and it is clear when a number of employees donate from Rp. 20,000, Rp. 50,000, Rp. 100,000, to Rp. 250,000.

"Whatever we accept. This is all our good intentions to help the people," said Minister of Agriculture Amran as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 3.

In his directive, Amran emphasized that social solidarity is not a ceremony, but a national moral call.

"Every aid is hope. The Ministry of Agriculture cares," he said.

He said the disaster was a test of humanity that moved the hearts of many people.

"Red and White call! Our brothers are affected by the disaster, and as children of our nation we must lend a hand," he said.

Not to forget Amran also reminded that business success should give birth to a sharing culture, especially for those who are vulnerable.

"Alhamdulillah, we just received it this morning, it's still small but it's okay. Now it's more or less Rp75 billion. At this rate I want to stand here until the afternoon," he said.

To ensure transparency, Minister of Agriculture Amran challenged his staff to check the flow of funds directly.

"Don't look at the size of it, the important thing is to be sincere. Try to test it live, don't go into that account. Try the Director General, don't donate it," he said.

He ensured that all aid was immediately distributed through the Ministry of Agriculture's Emergency Response Team, in collaboration with local governments, Bapanas, and humanitarian agencies.

Kepada panitia penggalangan dana, Mentan Amran berpesan agar segera salurkan dan tidak salah sasaran. Pasalnya, hal itu akan dipertanggungjawabkan dunia akhirat.

“Kita harus bantu mereka. Ini musibah. Kalau kita bersama-sama, pasti lebih ringan,” ujarnya.

Diketahui, gerakan serupa bukan kali pertama dilakukan Mentan Amran.

Saat gempa Palu tahun 2018, ia juga berhasil menghimpun hampir Rp50 miliar hanya dalam waktu 30 menit.

To the fundraising committee, Minister of Agriculture Amran advised to immediately distribute it and not get the wrong target. The reason is, this will be accounted for in the afterlife.

"We have to help them. This is a disaster. If we are together, it will definitely be lighter," he said.

It is known, this is not the first time a similar movement has been carried out by Minister of Agriculture Amran.

During the 2018 Palu earthquake, he also managed to collect nearly IDR 50 billion in just 30 minutes.
