Garuda Indonesia Flying 20 Tons Of Aid For Flood Victims In Aceh, North Sumatra, And West Sumatra
JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia Group deployed all operational lines to accelerate the distribution of humanitarian aid for flood-affected residents in Aceh, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), and West Sumatra (West Sumatra). More than 20 tons of logistics have been successfully flown to Banda Aceh, Medan, and Padang.
The distribution of humanitarian aid is carried out through integrated coordination with SOEs, the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI), and internal operational units.
President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Glenny Kairupan emphasized that accelerating aid distribution is the company's strategic mandate as a flag carrier.
On behalf of the Garuda Indonesia Group, we express our deep condolences to our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster. Together with Danantara, BUMN and all relevant stakeholders, we focus all resources so that air services can become a fast, safe, and reliable distribution route of aid," Glenny said in an official statement, Tuesday, December 2.
Glenny said Citilink was the first fleet to move quickly by transporting 9.4 tons of aid to Lhokseumawe, Aceh, on Monday, December 1.
The next support was carried out by Garuda Indonesia via flights to Kualanamu, Padang, and Banda Aceh, starting from the GA-190 route Jakarta Kualanamu which took off at 16.35 WIB. Aero Jasa Cargo (AJC) also ensures that the logistics chain runs without obstacles.
"Cumulatively until December 1, a total of 20.66 tons of assistance from SOEs has been successfully distributed by Garuda Indonesia Group," he said.

Glenny emphasized that Garuda Indonesia's role in this humanitarian mission is not only limited to transportation. However, it also has a strategic responsibility to support the acceleration of disaster management.

In addition, Glenny said Garuda Indonesia Group continues to monitor the development of the situation and coordinate with the central government, regional governments, and other stakeholders so that this humanitarian mission runs effectively and reaches the people in need.
