Lawsuit Against Agnez Mo Kandas, Ari Bias Files New Lawsuit Against Holywings As Organizer

JAKARTA - Ari Bias' struggle to protect his songs has not stopped. After the Supreme Court decided Agnez Mo was not guilty of not paying royalties, now it is PT Aneka Bintang Gading alias Holywings' turn to be sued.

Ari Bias' lawsuit against Holywings was registered at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court on November 25.

Spokesperson for the Central Jakarta District Court, Sunoto, said that the lawsuit filed by Ari Bias as the Plaintiff was addressed to PT Aneka Bintang Gading as the Defendant.

Then there are Agnez Mo, the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN), and Karya Cipta Indonesia (KCI) as the Defendant.

"So, at the core of the main lawsuit, I convey, the Plaintiff sued the Defendant for copyright in the form of economic rights and moral rights of the creator," Sunoto told the media crew at the Central Jakarta District Court, Monday, December 1.

Similar to the previous lawsuit against Agnez, Ari questioned the absence of royalties from the use of the song Bilang Saja in three shows' where the Defendant was the organizer in 2023.

"The defendant held three commercial concerts from May 25 to 27, in 2023, in Surabaya, Jakarta, and Bandung, featuring a song called Bilang Saja created by the Plaintiff without permission and without listing the name of the Plaintiff as the creator," added Sunoto.

In this lawsuit, said the spokesman for the Central District Court, Ari Bias, demanding compensation fees for PT Aneka Bintang Gading amounting to Rp4.9 billion.

"In one of the petitums or demands, the Plaintiff demanded the Defendant to pay compensation of Rp. 4,900,000,000 for violations of economic rights and moral rights of the creator as stipulated in the Copyright Act," concluded Sunoto.
