Pertamina Refinery Make Sure It Continues To Operate During The Christmas And New Year Period
JAKARTA - The Pertamina International Refinery (KPI) stated its full readiness to support the smooth fulfillment of fuel oil (BBM) during the Christmas and New Year periods.
Pjs. KPI Corporate Secretary, Milla Suciyani said, this readiness was in line with the acceleration of the formation of the Task Force for the Control and Monitoring of the Smooth Distribution of Energy in Pertamina Group.
Milla said the task force will serve during the period from late November 2025 to early January 2026. Not only serving at the head office, but also in all operational units and integrated with Pertamina (Persero).
The main focus of the Pertamina Task Force, continued Milla, is on stock readiness, production capacity, and national energy distribution. KPI as part of the task force, Milla continued, ensuring that all refineries will operate optimally according to planning and operating safely.
KPI ensures that the refinery will continue to operate throughout the Nataru holiday. We will also continue to ensure that the refinery produces products as planned reliably and safely," said Milla, Monday, December 1.
Milla explained, in facing the prediction of a surge in fuel consumption during the Nataru holiday, KPI prepared a number of strategies so that the production target could be achieved. One of them is through planned maintenance and digitization of the operating system.
By utilizing real-time monitoring technology, KPI can detect potential disturbances early and make improvements before impacting production. This system is integrated into the SH R&P Command Center, which is part of the task force, in monitoring entire refineries nationwide.
In addition, Milla continued, KPI implemented strict stock management of raw materials and supporting materials. The stock of chemicals is guarded for more than two months, catalysts for more than six months, and fast-moving materials are specially prepared during the Nataru Task Force.
Regarding the readiness to face the Nataru holiday, the availability of crude oil stocks at the KPI refinery is maintained in the range of about 15 days.
This reflects the readiness of the refinery in dealing with the potential increase in fuel needs during the long Nataru holiday. All refineries are ensured to operate according to the downstream optimization target to ensure the continuity of fuel supply," said Milla.
Human resource arrangements are also one of the crucial things. From the HR side, KPI has alerted its workers to continue to monitor refinery operations during the Nataru holiday and coordinate with security teams and related agencies," said Milla.

KPI also coordinates with Pertamina Group to ensure that fuel product lifting runs efficiently and according to market needs. According to Milla, with this approach, the refinery is not only operating stably, but is also able to adjust the output to national consumption.
For the November period, KPI will produce gasoline series of around 8 million barrels, gasoil series of around 10.7 million barrels and avtur of around 2.2 million barrels.
Meanwhile, in December 2025, KPI will increase gasoil series production to around 11.5 million barrels. Meanwhile, the production of gasoline series and avtur is relatively the same as the November 2025 plan.
"We are not only pursuing production targets, but also ensuring the quality and accuracy of distribution throughout Indonesia. The performance of the refinery during the Nataru period is an important indicator in maintaining public trust in KPI and Pertamina," concluded Milla.
