Bilal Indrajaya Gandeng Maudy Ayunda For Reinterpretation Of The Song 'You'
Bilal Indrajaya has just marked his career journey through collaboration with Maudy Ayunda. This duet tries to revive a song called You', an old single belonging to the music group Dua which was first released in 2004.
Instead of just recycling, the project is an intimate reinterpretation, showing a meeting of two different vocal characters.
Bilal carried his trademark with a romantic-nostalgic touch that was always attached, while Maudy donated a soft vocal warmth creating unique chemistry for this two-decade-old song.
The idea to bring back You begins with an unplanned moment. Bilal said this collaboration started from an unexpected flashback when he was backstage.
"In the middle of waiting for a performance, I picked the guitar and suddenly the melody 'You' remembered again, a song that quite often fills my school days," Bilal said in a press release received by VOI, Monday, December 1.
The small moment quickly developed into an impetus to create a new, closer version, which is able to reflect on Bilal's current musical identity.
When the duet friend search process began, Maudy Ayunda immediately became the person who appeared in Bilal's mind as the most appropriate voice to complete his vocal color in singing the song again.

Tit for tat, Maudy enthusiastically welcomed this collaboration invitation. Not only filling out vocals, the musician, who has had more than a decade of experience, has been involved since the early phase of the creative process.
Maudy's presence is crucial in helping to shape new characters and nuances, increasing emotional depth and embedding a warm touch that has been her hallmark of music.
To ensure the results of mature production, Bilal and Maudy agreed to entrust Lafa Pratomo as producer.
Lafa, previously known for his involvement in Bilal's latest EP and his last album Maudy, again showed sensitivity and maturity in building the production space.
Beyond the creative process, this project has also been successfully realized thanks to the slick synergy between the labels that oversee the two musicians. Aksara Records, which houses Bilal Indrajaya and Trinity Optima Production, is Maudy Ayunda's place to take shelter.
In the end, the You' in the versions of Bilal Indrajaya and Maudy Ayunda are not limited to an ordinary recycling project. This is a re-reading that tried to bring nostalgia closer two decades ago with an interpretation that feels warm, soft, and more relevant to the ears of today's listeners.
