Take Too Right Direction, Garbage Truck Hits Mother Of Herbal Medicine Seller In Cengkareng

JAKARTA - A woman selling herbal medicine was seriously injured after being hit by a garbage truck that was about to turn around on Jalan Ringroad Kayu Besar, Nangka Market, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Sunday, November 30 at 09.00 WIB.

The Head of Operations Development Affairs (KBO) of the West Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Sudarmo, explained that the accident began when the truck drove from the direction of the Water Gate to Kayu Besar.

Based on witness testimony, Arifin, who is a trader around the location, the truck was about to make a U-turn.

However, while maneuvering, the truck took the bow too far to the right and hit a bicycle which was being taken by the victim to cross the road.

"The truck driver intends to turn around. Because he took the right direction, the vehicle hit a herbal medicine bicycle driven by the victim," said AKP Sudarmo when contacted in Jakarta, Sunday, November 30.

As a result of the collision, the victim suffered serious injuries to his right leg. The victim was then taken to Cengkareng Hospital for medical treatment.

"The victim suffered a wound on the lower right leg, was taken by taxi with the driver to Cengkareng Hospital," he said.

Sudarmo said that his party was still investigating the identity of the truck driver and the victim. The police also secured evidence in the form of a wrecked herbal bicycle and conducted a crime scene (TKP).

"Waiting for evidence of the victim's bicycle," he said.

Previously, a video uploaded to the Instagram account @warga.jakbar showed the victim lying on the road not far from the garbage truck. The upload said that the victim was hit while trying to cross.
