Matches Smoothly Broke The Audience Record, But Persija Still Sanctioned Due To The Presence Of PSIM Supporters

SOLO - President Director (Director) I.League, Ferry Paulus stated that Persija Jakarta will still be sanctioned.

This is related to the presence of PSIM Yogyakarta supporters when Persija's match hosted PSIM at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, Friday, November 28.

"Yes, you have to (pay sanctions), you have to. Not only football, I think in our lives too, the name reward and punishment is an important part of our lives," said Ferry Paulus at the Sriwedari Stadium, Solo, Saturday 29 November.

Persija vs PSIM meeting took place in the 14th match of the 2025/2026 Super League, as well as the moment of Persija's 97th birthday. The presence of the number of spectators in that match successfully broke the record most.

A total of 56,150 people attended the match which Persija won with a score of 2-0. However, from that record, there were 5 thousand people who were supporters of PSIM Yogyakarta.

Although the match was conducive and the two supporters returned without friction, Ferry Paulus ensured that Persija would still receive sanctions. This is in accordance with I.League regulations regarding the presence of guest supporters in away matches.

Not only the visitors, but the rules related to supporters away also have an impact on the host's camp. This means that Persija is still required to pay fines according to competition regulations.

"And I think football needs that, apart from being regulatory there is a desire, and fairly the rewards and punishment must remain," said Ferry.

Despite being sanctioned, I.League still gave appreciation for the match which recorded a new history in the number of spectators. Ferry Paulus called the record the highest in the Super League era

He is optimistic that the next Super League matches will produce a new record. Moreover, there is still a hot big match like Persija against Persib Bandung.

"Well, that's great. What's even more terrible is winning Persija, the hosts. Maybe this is the first record and we at I.League have confidence that there will be new records because there are still other big matches," explained Ferry Paulus.

"Maybe later there will be Persija vs Persib, or Persib vs Persija, then there will also be Persija vs Persebaya," he continued.
