TNI Investigate Truth Of Bomber Drone Attack In Yahukimo Kills 1 Resident And 1 Injured

JAKARTA - Kapendam XVII Cendrawasih Lt. Col. Inf. Tri Purwanto said the TNI-Polri officers were still investigating the issue of using the "drone bomber" which caused residents to be injured and died in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.

The issue was initially circulating on social media (medsos) with the narrative that two residents were victims of an explosion from a bomber drone. To ensure the truth of the issue, the case is currently still in the process of being investigated by the authorities in the field.

"We are still waiting for the results of an official investigation so as not to cause unrest or provocation and urge the public not to be easily provoked by information that has not been proven true, because they are trying to reveal the real facts," said Kapendam in Jayapura, Sunday, quoted by Antara.

According to Kapendam, from the results of the coordination, it was stated that there was no drone movement activity from the TNI-Polri officers at the time of the incident related to the bomb issue on November 25.

"Information on social media revealed that the incident occurred Tuesday night (November 25), at around 22.00 WIT," he said.

Kapendam then emphasized that the narrative that stated the use of a bomber drone by the TNI-Polri apparatus on the issue on social media was not true.

"The information is not true and has the potential to trigger misunderstandings in the community, because from the temporary report it was revealed that the explosion that caused casualties and injuries may have come from homemade explosives or Molotovs that failed to be made when assembled," he said.
