Viral Todongkan Senpi, Two Perpetrators Of Theft Arrested At Tapos Depok

Polda Metro Jaya arrested two perpetrators of attempted motor vehicle theft (curanmor) with the initials KM and RA, who previously went viral for pointing a firearm when the victim was caught in the act. From these arrests, the police helped secure homemade firearms and ammunition.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto said the two perpetrators were arrested by the Resmob Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya at a house in Kampung Banjaran Pucung, Tapos, Depok, on Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025.

The opsnal team of the Metro Jaya Police Resmob Sub-Directorate moved quickly and arrested the perpetrators with the initials KM and RA in a house. Officers also found a homemade firearm and three bullets lying on the floor of the house, "he said in a written statement, Sunday, November 30, 2025.

Budi explained that the attempted theft began with CCTV footage that went viral on social media. In the video, two perpetrators are seen trying to steal a motorbike parked in a shop in the Cilangkap area, Tapos, Depok City, on November 24, 2025. However, their action failed after being caught by the victim.

"In a state of urgency, one of the perpetrators then pointed a firearm at the victim before finally managed to escape," he said.

Based on the report and the results of the analysis of CCTV footage, the Resmob unit then gave chase and managed to identify the hiding locations of the perpetrators. The perpetrators admitted that they often brought guns in action.

"The perpetrator admitted that he often used firearms when carrying out theft to protect himself," he said.

The perpetrators are now being taken to the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters for intensive examination, including their possible involvement in the motor vehicle theft network.

For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 1 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 regarding the possession of illegal firearms, with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.*
