Beat Lazio Through Rafael Leao's Goal, AC Milan To The Top
JAKARTA - Front player Rafael Leao scored the only goal that led AC Milan to a 1-0 win against Lazio in the Italian Serie A match at the San Siro Stadium, Milan, Sunday, November 30, 2025 in the morning WIB. The victory in the controversial match brought Milan to the top of the standings.
No need to wait for AS Roma's big match against Napoli which was held at the Stadio Olimpico, Monday, December 1, 2025 in the morning WIB. Milan already took the throne which was previously controlled by Roma after picking up two consecutive wins.
Previously Milan successfully beat city rivals Inter Milan, also with a score of 1-0 in the Derby della Madonnina last week. The Rossoneri positive trend continued as they acted as hosts.
Even Massimiliano Allegri's team won 1-0 over Lazio who took them to the top after pocketing 28 points.
Winning one point with Roma dropping to second place. Meanwhile, Napoli, who are in third place, have points 25. Roma and Napoli both have the opportunity to reclaim the standings if they beat each other in a big match at the Olimpico.
For Lazio, the defeat did not change the position of those in the middle board. Maurizio Sarri's team is ranked eighth by pocketing 18 points.
Milan's match against Lazio itself took place quite controversially, especially when defender Strahinja Pavlovic was considered a handball when he blocked Alessio Romagnoli's volley in injury time.
The referee actually allowed the incident because Pavlovic's arm was deemed accidentally touching the ball. But Lazio players then protested which made referee Giuseppe Collu review the incident via VAR.
Not only that, Allegri and Lazio assistant coach Marco Inanni had an argument in the VAR review process. In the aftermath, Collu gave them a red card.
The referee also issued a strange decision after watching the Milan player's handball replay. Collu still has no problem with the Pavlovic incident.
On the other hand, Pavlovic's foul on Adam Marusic the minute before was in the spotlight of the referee. Collu also gave a free kick outside the penalty box which made Lazio players disappointed and others laughed at the decision.
"The situation was a bit chaotic at the last minute. It was not easy for the referee to make a decision after being asked to review the incident via VAR," said Allegri, who stated that he did not provoke the referee.
The referee was also the one who led our match when we lost against Cremonese in the first match of the league. He did get me out. But in a chaotic situation, he had to make a decision. I didn't really mean to provoke him myself," he told Football Italia.
The match was tight and fierce. Lazio had almost broken into Milan's goal when the game had only been running for a minute.
However, Mario Gila's header was brilliantly denied by goalkeeper Mike Maignan. Furthermore, Maignan made another impressive save while thwarting Mattia Zaccagni's chances.
Milan was only able to break the deadlock in the second half. Leao, who received an assist from Fikayo Tomori, managed to convert it into a goal in the 51st minute. Milan won 1-0 and the score lasted until the game was over.
The match itself was tight. We had difficulties when we started the match because Lazio pressed us. They can also maintain the tempo of the game and can always close our passes. If you make a little mistake, you will lose," said Allegri.
