Brazilian Federation President Excited To Extend Carlo Ancelotti's Contract

JAKARTA - The President of the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF), Samir Xaud, wants to open talks on contract extensions with coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti, whose contract expires after the 2026 World Cup, recently expressed his desire to extend the contract until 2030.

"I see this conversation from a positive point of view. He has said in an interview that it all depends on both parties."

"I always believe in building a work relationship. Everything is there to achieve success," said Xaud when asked about the possibility of Ancelotti remaining in the lead after 2026, reported by ESPN.

The CBF incident is to start talks with Ancelotti early next year for Ancelotti to extend his contract before the 2026 World Cup.

CBF wants to ensure the Italian coach remains in the lead regardless of Brazil's results in next year's grand tournament.

The 66 coach took over Brazil's National Team (Timnas) after leaving Real Madrid in May 2025. He is determined to bring Team Samba to his sixth World Cup title in 2026.

Brazil has not raised a World Cup since 2002 and their closest achievement since then has been finishing fourth in 2014 when they hosted the event.
