John Bonham's Memorabilia Auctioned: Hits Drummer's Footprint That Ends Led Zeppelin's Era
JAKARTA - A rare and highly anticipated auction has been held, with John Bonham's personal belongings displayed, the legendary drummer of Led Zeppelin.
This auction is not just a sale of memorabilia, but a gateway to reminisce about the legacy of one of the best rock drummers, as well as understanding why the Sefenomenal group Led Zeppelin chose to disband after his departure.
The collection, sent by Allan totaling, John Bonham's brother-in-law, was auctioned at the Fieldings Auctioneers auction house in Stourbridge, England on November 27.
Among the most prominent items from this sale were a striking blue referral suit, a brown leather coat, and three western-style shirts. One of these shirts was even worn by John Bonham while filming their iconic film, The Song Remains The Same.
Each auction lot offers a unique opportunity for collectors and fans to have a real piece of rock history. Rachel Holland, director and music and entertainment specialist for the Fieldings Auctioneers, said that this auction is an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate the legacy of one of the most influential drummers in rock music.
"The extraordinary shipment from Allan totaling allows fans and collectors to connect with John Bonham in a very private manner," Holland said, quoted by the BBC, Friday, November 28.
men themselves told that he knew Bonham through his wife, Beryl, one of the sisters of Pat, Bonham's wife. Far from the image of a rock star, Allan remembers Bonham as a warm figure.
When people at work ask, 'What is she like?' I replied, 'He's my brother-in-law. We just went to the pub, drank a few glasses of beer, and laughed together, did a lot together', Allan said.

He felt very unfortunate to see Bonham's clothes only stored in the warehouse. He also wants these items to be seen by the public as the main reason for this auction.
"People want to see it, I prefer those items come out for people to see rather than just keep them," he said. "I have memories that no one can take from me about when I was with John and do various things, so that's what's special to me.
For information, John Bonham died on September 25, 1980, at the age of 32, due to a pulmonary eedema or a buildup of fluids in the lungs. This tragic death instantly ended the journey of the world's largest rock band a decision that is still a benchmark for the loyalty of a music group.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in 2014, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page was asked why the band didn't take a break and rebuild the formation after Bonham's departure.
"Led Zeppelin is not a corporate entity," replied Page. Led Zeppelin is a matter of the heart. Every member is important to the whole of us. I want to think that if it was me who didn't exist, the others would make the same decision."
Page explained, replacing Bonham is impossible. "And what are we going to do? Creating a role for someone, and saying, 'You have to do this, in this way?' It won't be honest," he said.
