BNPB: 116 Victims Died In Disaster In North Sumatra, 42 Missing
Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Suharyanto said there were 116 victims who died in the disaster in North Sumatra Province, and 42 people are still being searched.
Suharyanto explained that in floods and landslides in North Sumatra (North Sumatra), West Sumatra (West Sumatra), and Aceh, the worst impact on North Sumatra, especially Central Tapanuli.
"In detail, North Tapanuli died 11, Central Tapanuli died 47, South Tapanuli 32 died, Sibolga City 17 died, Humbang Hasundutan 6 died, then Padang Sidempuan City 1, Pakpak Bharat there were 2," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 28.
As for Mandailing Natal, so far no one has been reported to have died. He said the data would continue to be updated, because there are still many locations that have not been accessed, so there are possible casualties in those locations.
Regarding the evacuation, more than 1000 families fled. For North Tapanuli, he said, the temporary evacuation point is centered on a route that connects Tarutung to Sibolga.
"There is a church building there, it is used to evacuate, checked there are around 600 heads of families (KK)," he said.
Then in Central Tapanuli as many as 1,100 families fled to facilities owned by the local government (Pemda).
"But during the afternoon we counted, we checked around 600, because during the day some of the displaced people also checked and helped open the broken routes," said Suhariyanto.
As for South Tapanuli, there are around 250 families, for Sibolga city around 200 families, and Humbang Hasundutan there are 150 families.
"As for Mandailing Natal, this is spread over five points of refuge, we calculate this at around 1,500 families," said Suhariyanto.
On that occasion, Suhariyanto explained that his communication and transportation route as of Friday was relatively better than the previous three days.
"The first thing we are still trying to penetrate is the route from North Tapanuli or Tarutung to Sibolga. This is a very vital lifeblood, but it is still a process for opening, opened by the joint task force," said Head of BNPB Suhariyanto.
