7,418 People Affected By West Aceh Floods, BPBD: Water Level Reaches 1 Meter

JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded 7,418 people or 3,725 families (KK) spread across 64 villages and 10 sub-districts in West Aceh affected by flooding.

"Currently, the water level in a number of locations still varies between 50 centimeters (cm) and above 1 meter," said West Aceh Regency BPBD Pusdalops Coordinator Mashuri to reporters, Friday, quoted by Antara.

The areas currently affected by flooding in West Aceh Regency include Johan Pahlawan District covering Pasi Leuhan Village, then Meureubo District covering Pasi Masjid Village, Pasi Aceh Tunong Village, and Pasi Aceh Baroh Village.

Floods also submerged eight villages in Sungai Mas District consisting of Kajeung, Geduong, Lancong, Tungkop, Leubok Beutong, Gleng, Gunong Buloh villages, and Gaseu villages.

In Arongan Lambalek District, floods submerged Teupin Peuraho Village, Peuribu Village, Ujong Beusa, Drien Rampak, Keub, Cot Kumbang, Kubu, Seuneubok Lhong, Suak Ie Beuso, and Village. Arongan.

In Woyla Timur District, floods submerged Seuradeuk Village, Pasi Ara, Rambong, Gampong Baro, Tangkeh, Leubok Panyang, Pasi Janeng. Meanwhile, in Pante Ceureumen District, the flood submerged Canggai Village, Keutambang, Seumantok, Lango.

Floods also submerged a number of villages in Woyla Barat District including Napai Village, Blang Cot Rubek, Blang Cot Mameh, Pasi Malee, Lhok Malee, Cot Rambong, Blang Luah, Alue Leuhob, Leubok Pasi Ara, Ulee Pasi Ara, Cot Lagan, Kulam Kaju, Peuleukung, Pasi Panyang, and Alue Perman Village.

In Kaway XVI District, the flood also submerged 10 villages/gampong consisting of Alue visible, Padang Mancang, Puuk, Alue On, Putim, Gampong Masjid, Keudee Aron, Alue Tampak, Meunasah Buloh, and Pasi Jambu.

Floods also submerged two villages in Samatiga District, namely Deuah and Cot Amun Villages, as well as Jawi and Lueng Buloh villages in Woyla District, West Aceh Regency.

Based on the results of the monitoring by the West Aceh BPBD Pusdalops team, he said, the flood natural disaster that occurred in 10 local sub-districts was due to the overflow of the Woyla River and Meureubo River, after the heavy rain of strong winds hit this area.
