Apple Is Predicted To End Samsung's Domination Over The Last 14 Years

JAKARTA Samsung's dominance in the smartphone market globally is expected to end in the near future. This position is believed to be won by its tough competitor, namely Apple.

This prediction comes from Counterpoint Research, a special research company in the realm of technology. As reported by Gizmochina, Apple is predicted to return to its number one position by the end of this year, the title Apple last held in 2011.

Many factors make this prediction appear, one of which is sales of mobile phones from Apple. Overall, the growth in smartphone shipments globally is estimated to increase by around 3.3 percent next year.

However, Apple's growth projection is estimated to be larger, reaching around 10 percent in the same period. This large growth will provide Apple with a global market share of 19.4 percent.

With this figure, Apple can directly push Samsung to second place. Although Samsung's sales growth is projected to continue to run stably, the South Korean company is believed to only reach 4.6 percent.

Another factor believed to benefit Apple is sales from the latest iPhone 17 series. This highly altered design shows good sales in smart areas, one such as China, which is usually famous for being difficult to penetrate by US brands.

Used device factors also play an important role in strengthening Apple's ecosystem. About 358 million used iPhones are expected to change hands globally from 2023 to mid-2025.

After occupying the top spot, analysts believe that Apple will not let go of the position easily. Projections show that Apple maintains its leadership until 2029.
