7 People Buried By Landslides In Talamau West Sumatra, 1 Selamat

JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that of the seven residents buried by landslides, one of them survived in Batang Tinggam Nagari (Village) Sinuruik, Talamau District, West Pasaman, West Sumatra (West Sumatra)

"The landslide occurred in the early hours of Friday (28 November) at around 04.00 WIB. One person survived and six people are still buried by landslide material," said Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of West Pasaman BPBD Afrizal at Simpang Empat, Friday, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the landslide also caused two housing units to be buried by landslides and piled up the flow of the Batang Ram River.

Long landslides are about 600 meters long with a height of 10 meters. Landslides also stockpile community agricultural land

He mentioned the initial information of one survivor on behalf of Rendi and has received treatment at the Talu Health Center, Talamau District.

Meanwhile, six people were buried and still being searched for the names of Yelma Yunita, Rafael, Silent Fernada, Inur, Siam, and Zahra.

"Currently, the West Pasaman BPBD TRC team, the TNI, the police, the sub-district, nagari and the community are trying to find victims," he said.

The search will also be imported with heavy equipment so that the search can be carried out quickly.

He said temporary data that 96 residents near the landslide had fled to a safe place in the Sinuruik Talamau Ant Boundary area.

He appealed to the public not to be near the hills for a while because it is prone to landslides.

"Temporary data on 10 sub-districts out of 11 have been affected by floods and landslides. The West Pasaman Regency Government and other teams continue to strive to provide assistance to residents affected by natural disasters," he said.
