Hong Kong Fire, MAMA Awards 2025 Still Held This Week
JAKARTA - The organizers of the MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) Awards opened their voices regarding their event which will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025. The event will continue even though the Hong Kong fire only occurred yesterday, November 26.
Through a statement released, they explained that they were continuing to discuss and the event was still being held. This is due to the large number of artists who have left for Hong Kong.
"We take the fire seriously at Tai Po, Hong Kong and the MAMA Awards committee continue to discuss a good response to each category," the committee said on Thursday, November 27.
We also review matters related to the appearance of artists and scripts. We will share the news after everything has been finalized," he said.
Ending his statement, the committee said, "We apologize to all artists and related parties and the committee will carefully review the event, thank you."

On November 26, a major fire broke out in an apartment complex in the Tai Po area of Hong Kong. 36 people were confirmed dead while 279 others were still missing.
A fire broke out in a tall apartment building, so many residents could not get out of the complex.
This apartment is located not far from Kai Tak Stadium, the location used for the 2025 MAMA Awards. The Hong Kong government also warned of a fire reaching Level 5, which indicated a major fire.
Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeoh, who previously had the event, canceled their visit while Korean actors and several K-pop idols were said to be still appearing at the MAMA Awards.
