Ada Material Longsor, Polres Padang Tutup Akses Jalan Menuju Lembah Anai
PADANG PANJANG - Padang Panjang City Police, West Sumatra, closed the road access to the Anai Valley after the landslide occurred in the area, Thursday morning.
Head of the Padang Panjang Police Traffic Unit, AKP Pifzen Pinot, said officers found three landslide points and fallen trees during patrols.
"For that we closed the route to the Anai Valley. We recommend drivers who are trapped taking alternative routes or waiting," said Pifzen in Padang Panjang, Antara, Thursday, November 27.
He explained that landslides and fallen trees occurred at around 06.00 WIB in the Mega Mendung bathing area, Anai Valley. The landslide material closed the entire road so that access could not be passed by vehicles.
"We urge people who are going to Padang or vice versa to find alternative ways," he said.
Padang Panjang Police Chief AKBP Kartyana Widyarso Wardoyo Putro also reminded the public to increase vigilance, especially when doing activities outside the home.
"Avoid and be aware of vulnerable areas such as riverbanks, cliffs, and locations where floods often occur," he said.
He added that residents living in disaster-prone areas need to prepare anticipatory steps early on, care for each other with the surrounding environment, and immediately report if an emergency occurs.
