Floods Widespread In Padang, 27,433 Affected Residents And Dozens Of Houses Damaged
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Padang City, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) reported that 27,433 residents in the area were affected by flooding due to heavy rains that have occurred since the last few days.
"The rain that still occurred on Tuesday (25/11) in the morning resulted in flooding in a number of places, tens of thousands of residents were also affected," said Padang City BPBD Chief Executive Hendri Zulviton in Padang, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 26.
Hendri Zulviton said based on data from the Center for Disaster Management Operations Control (Pusdalops) of the Padang City BPBD, Koto Tangah District was the area with the most affected residents, namely 20,983 people.
Then other affected areas, namely Nanggalo District with a total of 2,232 residents were also affected. Furthermore, North Padang District as many as 1,486 residents, Lubuk Begalung District as many as 893 people, Pauh District 741 people and in Kuranji District as many as 601 people. In addition, there are also affected residents in West Padang District as many as 321 people, East Padang District 150 people and 26 people in Bungus Teluk Kabung District.
"The victims affected by the flood are in nine sub-districts," said Hendri.

Furthermore, he conveyed that due to the hydrometeorological disaster that hit Padang City and its surroundings, a number of infrastructures and houses were damaged. Two houses were washed away, 61 houses were moderately damaged, 17 houses were lightly damaged, one house of worship was lightly damaged, two landslide locations and two plots of rice fields were heavily damaged.
"That's temporary data. We will continue to update the data regarding the current condition of floods, landslides and other disasters in the city of Padang," he said.
