Community Aspirations Behind Rehabilitation Of Ira Puspadewi Et Al

JAKARTA The public's aspirations regarding the clarity of the legal process for the acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara (JN) encourage the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto to issue a rehabilitation letter for three former directors of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero). The three are Ira Puspadewi, Muhammad Yusuf Hadi, and Harry Muhammad Adhi Caksono, who were previously caught in the case since 2024.

The rehabilitation decision was announced at the State Palace on Tuesday (25/11) by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, together with Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Prasetyo said the President's decision was made after the government received a lot of public input and conducted an in-depth study regarding the sustainability of the case legal process.

According to him, the Ministry of Law has also conducted a series of studies, including asking for views from legal experts before providing recommendations to the President.

"Based on a request from the Ministry of Law and a study conducted, the President has given approval and today has signed a rehabilitation letter. Furthermore, the process will run according to the laws and regulations," said Prasetyo.

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, emphasized that the issuance of the rehabilitation letter was the result of a constitutional mechanism involving filtering the aspirations of the people to the study process by the DPR Law Commission. According to him, many community groups have asked the government to review cases that have been investigated since July 2024.

"The DPR accepts various aspirations from the community. We then asked the Legal Commission to conduct a study and we conveyed the results to the government regarding case No. 68 Pidsus PPK 2025 of the Central Jakarta District Court," said Dasco.

With the issuance of a rehabilitation letter, the government hopes to provide legal certainty for the affected parties. Dasco also assessed that the President's steps were in line with the constitutional path and the public's need for clarity in case handling.

Previously, the Central Jakarta District Court sentenced the case of alleged corruption in the business cooperation and acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara for the 2019-2022 period. State losses in this case were said to have reached Rp1.25 trillion. In that decision, former President Director Ira Puspadewi was sentenced to four years and six months in prison, while former Commercial Director Muhammad Yusuf Hadi and former Planning and Development Director Harry Muhammad Adhi Caksono were each sentenced to four years in prison.

The issuance of this rehabilitation letter marks a new chapter in case settlement, as well as showing the government's response to public aspirations regarding the need for legal certainty in handling the case.
