Today's Rainy Rain In Indonesia, BMKG Urges To Be Alert To Extreme Weather
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most parts of Indonesia will experience rain with varying intensity on Wednesday, November 26, ranging from light rain, moderate rain, to rain accompanied by lightning.
BMKG forecaster Ranika said that light rain is predicted in a number of big cities, namely Padang, West Sumatra; Pekanbaru, Riau; Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands; Jambi, Jambi; Bengkulu, Bengkulu; and Palembang, South Sumatra.
"Light rain also has the potential to flush Semarang, Central Java; Surabaya, East Java; Pontianak, West Kalimantan; Samarinda, East Kalimantan," Ranika said as quoted by Antara.
Next, similar weather conditions also have the potential to occur in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan; Makassar, South Sulawesi; Palu, Central Sulawesi; Gorontalo, Gorontalo; Manado, North Sulawesi; Ternate, North Maluku; Ambon, Maluku; Sorong, Southwest Papua; Manokwari, West Papua; Jayapura, Papua; and Jayawijaya, Papua Mountains.
Meanwhile, rain with moderate intensity is forecast in Banda Aceh, Aceh; Medan, North Sumatra; Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan; and Nabire, Central Papua.
BMKG also warned of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in a number of areas, namely Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan; Mamuju, West Sulawesi; Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi; and Merauke, South Papua.
A number of areas are predicted to experience thick clouds, including Bandar Lampung, Lampung; Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung Islands; Serang, Banten; Jakarta, DKI Jakarta; Bandung, West Java; Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara; Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara; and Denpasar, Bali.
