Ruben Amorim Iri Manchester United Has No Fighting Power Like Everton

JAKARTA - After losing to Everton 0-1 on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim took the positive side of his opponent.

The Portuguese coach said Manchester United was far from being able to compete at the top of the Premier League standings after which match Everton could win when playing with 10 people.

The Red Devils have a chance to move up to the Champions League zone if they win over David Moyes' side at Old Trafford.

However, the fact is Everton who managed to get the full three points even though Idrissa Gueye was sent off in the 13th minute for slapping her teammate, Michael Keane.

Amoritam said after the game that his team deserved to lose and admitted that even though their recent performance was positive, he was still afraid of a repeat of last season when a series of poor results made Manchester United finish in 15th place.

"We haven't even been there yet, not even close to the point that should be to compete for the best position in the league."

"In the past five weeks everyone has praised our development. I've always said the same thing. We haven't even approached the moments we should have had at this club."

"I'm afraid to go back to feeling like last season. That's my biggest concern," said Amorim.

Amoritism was so disappointed with his players that he said he was jealous of the fighting spirit Everton showed even though it caused Gueye to be expelled.

He told his squad he wanted to see the same attitude as Everton when they got back together for training at Carrington on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, local time.

"Fighting is not a bad thing. Fighting doesn't mean they don't like each other. Fighting means you lose the ball, I will fight you because we will concede. That's how I feel when watching."

"I hope my players, when they lose the ball, they fight each other. It's a good feeling, not a bad feeling."

"Once again, my players show in many matches that we can do it. Today, we didn't."

"We will be better in the future. Today, we are really frustrated. We have training and will prepare for the next game," said Amorim.

Manchester United are ranked 10th in the Premier League after losing to Everton and will travel to Crystal Palace on November 30, 2025.
