National Teacher's Day, DPRD Concerned About The Salaries Of Jakarta Private Teachers Still Under The UMP
JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Khoirudin highlighted the importance of the welfare of private and public school teachers in Jakarta. According to him, most private teachers still receive salaries far below the provincial minimum wage (UMP).
Khoirudin said this concern coincided with the commemoration of National Teacher's Day which falls every November 25.
"The new government provides a decent salary for teachers in public schools. However, private teachers are still far from feasible. Even far below the provincial minimum wage. PJLP friends are paid the DKI UMP but private teachers have no standards," said Khoirudin, Tuesday, November 25.
He assessed that the issue must be a common concern, both executive and legislative in Jakarta to complete teacher welfare homework, especially in Jakarta. Remember, so far teachers have instilled "share" knowledge to everyone during their education period.
Khoirudin suggested that the DKI Provincial Government can prepare fiscal support allocated from the regional budget (APBD) to increase the income of private teachers.
"The government should at least pay attention to its salary. At least, the teacher's salary, the government intervenes by providing proper subsidies in Jakarta," said Khoirudin.

Khoirudin claimed that the DKI Provincial Government and the DKI DPRD are committed to encouraging the improvement of the welfare of educators. He hopes that there will be a more tangible realization in the implementation of government programs.
"We together have a desire from the Governor, there are DPRD friends who support so that teachers' salaries get proper attention from the government. Not only elementary, junior high, high school teachers but also PAUD, kindergarten, TPA teachers," he said.
In the momentum of National Teacher's Day, Khoirudin reminded the importance of appreciating the contribution of the teachers who are known as unsung heroes.
"Teachers are heroes who are still with us. Why heroes? Because they have a sincere and sincere education that has made their best contribution to educating our young generation as fillers of life space in the future. All those who are successful today are the services of all of them," he added.
