Police Test DNA Framework Allegedly Alvaro, A 6-year-old Boy Who Has Been Missing Since March

JAKARTA - Police officers have again taken further steps regarding the disappearance of Alvaro Kiano Nugroho (6). After eight months of not being found since being reported missing in March 2025, officers are now conducting DNA examinations of the human skeleton found in the Pesanggrahan area, South Jakarta, which is strongly suspected to be the body of the boy.

"The human skeleton was just found which is suspected to be Alvaro," said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly, Sunday.

Nicolas explained that the identification process must be carried out thoroughly through DNA tests in a forensic laboratory. This examination is important to ensure identity compatibility because DNA contains genetic material that is unique to each individual.

"To ensure whether the skeleton is true or not, Alvaro needs to be checked for DNA and forensic laboratory examinations," said Nicolas. He said investigators were still working to explore the findings. "Wait for investigators and investigators to work first to confirm it," he added.

Previously, the authorities found the body of a boy in the Pesanggrahan area who was suspected to be Alvaro. The Pesanggrahan Police have also arrested a suspected perpetrator related to the case of the disappearance of the boy for further questioning. However, the police have not been able to reveal the cause of death because the investigation is still ongoing.

Alvaro's search efforts have faced a number of obstacles. One of them is CCTV footage around the victim's house which is automatically deleted every day so that it does not provide data that can be traced.

In addition, reports of loss from families were not immediately made on the day of the incident, so the police had to collect information from various sources ranging from witnesses, schools, families, reports via direct Instagram messages, to the police chief's complaint channel.

Alvaro has been missing since Thursday, March 6, 2025. The family, especially the grandfather Tugimin (71), suspects that his grandson was taken away by a man who claims to be his biological father.

When last seen, Alvaro wore a black t-shirt, black trousers, and black sandals. He has physical characteristics of thinness, dark skin, short hair, and dimples.
